Turning 2

I can not believe my little baby girl is turning 2 soon. It seems too soon!! I can not believe how smart this little angel of ours is. I decided to start filling out questionnaires for my children on their birthday each year. Eventually they will be able to fill them out for themselves... maybe even answer the questions herself next year.

Here are the answers to the questions that I can answer for her:
Her favorite game is playing on ABC Mouse (with mommies help).
Her favorite food is lunch meat and cheese sandwiches.
Her favorite song is itsy-bitsy-spider.
Her favorite things to do are read books and help out around the house or with her baby sister.
She has two neighbor friends that she likes to spend time with. Plus she really likes playing with her older cousins whenever she gets the chance.
She adores her little sister, our two dogs (Eddie and Huney), and our cat (Archie).
She has a very similar personality to Jason.
She is shy, silly, and scares easily.
She had so much fun this year going to the park, swimming, visiting the zoo and aquarium, and hanging out with family and friends.

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly she grows. We love our little lady and can not wait for what this next year will bring.

DR Congo Adoption... One More Check on The Dossier Checklist

Democratic Republic of Congo Adoption Dossier
It has arrived! Half way there! 6 of 11 items on our Dossier checklist complete!

Well our placement agency supplied an amazing checklist in order to complete our Dossier.
At this moment all we need now is Jason's passport, 2 State Criminal Clearances, Copy of State Adoption Laws, I171h notarized copy, and our Home Study complete. I really hate the waiting game on paperwork, so I was super excited when I got my passport in the mail today! WAHOO!! I feel like it is a huge step towards bringing our son home. I really can not wait to get the referral, pray, and God willing accept him and bring him home. It is such an amazing journey that has helped me so much towards becoming the mother I want to be.

The Teething Nightmare

Liberty on The Teething Day
Madison on The Teething Day

If I could wish away one trial as a parent it would be teething!! This last week the girls had what I believe was their first joint teething day. Liberty has always received her teeth early compared to the above chart and is now getting her 2 year molars in (even though she is not yet 2) and Madison is getting her central incisors on the top in. Whoa man was I glad when that day was over!! It seemed like one melt down after another. I felt like I was trying everything to comfort my two cranky girls. I think they thought I was trying to torture them as I gave them a cold washcloth. We have 4 teething rings in the house somewhere and I couldn't find a one. I took them out of the house thinking a distraction would do the trick. Boy was I lucky they didn't have a total melt down while out. Whew dodged that bullet! However, a few friends did notice their change in demeanor from pleasant happy girls to just down right angry at the world. Of course after the dreaded day that I now refer to as "Teething Day" I visited the handy dandy BabyCenter and realized I could have been doing more to comfort my poor little ladies. Would never have thought of the following; freezing a pacifer, frozen foods, and completely forgot about the mesh food binkie bag we have. Thank heavens teething doesn't last forever!
